Terms of Use
Last updated: September 27, 2026
Draft. This text is pending legal review and is not final.
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Reger Digital GmbH & Co. KG, Am Jocham Hof 20, 94127 Neuburg am Inn, Germany (“we”, “us”). They apply to My Wishlist Online: the app for iPhone and Android, the web version of the app, the pages of shared lists and this website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
My Wishlist Online lets you collect gift wishes in lists, add products from online stores or by hand, and share your lists with a link. People you share a list with can open it in a browser without an account and mark a wish as bought, so the gift is not bought twice. In the app you can also add friends, form groups, comment on wishes, browse stores in the built-in browser and find ideas in “Get inspired”.
The service is free. There is no subscription and no paid tier. We earn money through affiliate links (see section 7). You never buy anything from us.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use the service with your own account. Parents can keep lists for their children in their own account.
When you open the app for the first time, it creates an account for you, even if you do not sign up. Without an email address, you can only reach your lists on that device. We recommend adding your email address so you can sign in on other devices.
Please give us a correct email address and keep your login codes and password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else is using it, tell us right away. We send you emails that belong to the service, such as login codes and notices about your lists.
3. Your content
Your lists, wishes, notes, pictures, comments and other content remain yours. To run the service, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, display and transmit your content, but only as far as needed to provide and improve the service. This includes:
- showing your lists to the people you share them with, and to your friends and groups, according to your settings,
- showing wishes from lists that are not set to “Only visible to me”, without your name, to other users in “Get inspired”.
The license ends when you delete the content or your account. Copies that other users already made, for example a wish they copied to their own list, can remain.
Only upload content you have the right to use. Do not publish personal information about other people without their permission. You are responsible for your content.
4. Sharing and visibility
Anyone who has the link to a shared list can see it and can forward the link. Share links only with people you trust. You decide in each list's settings whether it is visible to others, whether comments are allowed, and whether you want to see which wishes were marked as bought. A list set to “Only visible to me” cannot be seen by friends or through its link.
5. Marking gifts as bought
Marking a wish as bought is an informal note between the people who use a list. It is not an order, a promise or a contract, and we do not check whether a gift was actually bought. Anyone with the link can set a mark, and marks can be wrong or undone. We cannot guarantee that a gift is not bought twice, that a marked gift will arrive, or that a surprise stays a surprise.
6. Stores, products and prices
We are not the seller of any product shown in the service. If you buy something, your contract is with the store, and the store's terms apply. Product details such as title, picture, price and availability come from store websites or from users. They may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Please check them at the store before you buy.
The built-in browser shows store websites that we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, offers or privacy practices of stores or other third-party websites.
7. Affiliate links
Many store links in the service are affiliate links. If someone buys through such a link, the store may pay us a commission. The price stays the same for the buyer. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
8. Acceptable use
When you use My Wishlist Online, do not:
- break the law or violate the rights of others, including copyright, trademark and privacy rights,
- post content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent or otherwise harmful, in particular content that harms children,
- use the service to send spam or advertising, or create lists mainly to promote products or links,
- pretend to be someone else or create accounts in bulk,
- access the service with bots, scrapers or other automated means, except through features we offer and search engines indexing our public pages as our robots.txt allows,
- copy, extract or republish our ready-made gift lists, their descriptions or our product selection in bulk, or use them to build a similar service or to train AI models,
- try to get around security measures, access data of others or disrupt the service,
- manipulate affiliate links or commissions.
9. Reporting content
If you see content in My Wishlist Online that you believe is illegal or breaks these Terms, email support@mywishlistonline.com. Please include the link to the list or wish, explain why you think it is illegal or not allowed, and give your name and email address. You can write to us in English or German. This address is also our point of contact for authorities.
We review reports by hand. If content breaks the law or these Terms, we may remove it, limit features or suspend the account. We tell the person concerned what we did and why, unless the law does not allow it. They can reply to us to challenge the decision.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep My Wishlist Online running smoothly, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors. Maintenance, updates and technical problems can interrupt it. We may change, add or remove features. If we plan to shut down the service completely, we will tell you in advance so you have time to copy what you need.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account in the app under “Profile settings”.
We may suspend or delete accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these Terms or the law, or if the law requires it. Where possible, we will warn you first and tell you the reason.
12. Our responsibility
We provide My Wishlist Online free of charge and “as is”, to the extent the law allows.
We are fully liable for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where we gave a guarantee. For slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an obligation that is essential for the service and that you rely on. In that case, our liability is limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable. Otherwise we are not liable for slight negligence.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory law, including consumer protection law in the place where you live. Some US states do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you use the service as a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring claims in the courts where you live.
We are not willing or obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we change the service or the law changes. We will tell you about important changes in the app or by email before they take effect. Where the law requires your agreement, we will ask for it. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you can delete your account.
15. Other provisions
If a provision of these Terms is invalid, the rest remains in effect. If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard license agreement for apps also applies to your use of the app.
